The launching platform independently developed and manufactured by Wuhan Ship Machinery Qingdao Haixi Heavy Machinery Company was unveiled at the company's dock, helping the company's 90 meter self elevating offshore platform smoothly launch. This is the first time that the company has successfully used a new type of underwater equipment to launch a marine platform.

It is reported that the launching platform developed by Wuhan Ship Machinery Qingdao Haixi Heavy Machinery is a new type of launching equipment that fully combines the hydrological conditions of the company's pier and harbor basin, and is designed based on the lifting characteristics of the offshore platform itself. It is the first of its kind in China. The overall length of the underwater platform is 80 meters, width is 40 meters, height is 15.5 meters, and the maximum load capacity is 12000 tons. The main structure is divided into two layers, with the upper layer consisting of 13 boxes connected to a platform through clamping plates, and the lower layer supported by trusses in contact with the bottom of the harbor basin. After the offshore platform slides onto the launching platform, the box body under the pile legs of the offshore platform and the offshore platform station piles are removed, and the remaining box bodies of the launching platform are moved to finally complete the platform launching.

It is reported that the launching platform can be reused and is very suitable for the manufacturing process of onshore ship closure. It can minimize the site requirements for ship closure and meet the simultaneous operation of multiple platforms. Compared with the traditional semi submersible barge launching method, the launching platform can save one ship dispatch and use, significantly reduce the launching cost, reduce the impact and risk of tidal waves on the launching process, shorten the launching cycle, and better meet the launching requirements of all functional marine platforms currently available.

The commissioning of the Wuhan Ship Machinery Qingdao Haixi Heavy Machinery Launch Platform provides important equipment support for the bulk construction of the company's offshore platforms, and also lays a solid foundation for the company to "firmly become a pioneer in modular matching and system integration (EPCI) of Chinese offshore equipment".
